Fresno County Location (To Be Announced)

Join educators, administrators, and civic education leaders from across California for the 2026 Civic Education Educators Institute.

This year's institute will focus on one of the most requested areas of support: State Seal of Civic Engagement Resources by Subject Area. Participants will receive exclusive access to newly developed curriculum resources, model lessons, and implementation strategies designed to integrate civic learning into core academic subjects, including:

  • Mathematics

  • Science

  • English Language Arts (ELA)

  • History-Social Science

The Civic Education Center continues to support schools through three key priorities:

Increase the number of seals in your school

Learn practical strategies for helping more students successfully complete meaningful civic engagement experiences and qualify for the State Seal of Civic Engagement.

Increase Teacher Confidence

Explore ready-to-use lessons, classroom resources, and implementation tools that make civic learning accessible and manageable across grade levels and subject areas.

Make it easier for implementation

Discover how educators from every content area can contribute to civic learning while strengthening existing academic standards and instructional goals.

Participants will leave with classroom-ready resources, examples of successful student civic projects, opportunities to collaborate with peers, and a clear pathway for expanding civic education opportunities within their schools and districts.

Whether you are new to civic learning or looking to strengthen an existing State Seal program, this institute will provide practical tools and inspiration to help students become informed, engaged, and empowered community members.
