Leadership and Team Building
Program Objectives: To build leadership skills and other internal strengths such as communication, goal setting, self esteem, focus, trust, problem solving and responsibility while educating students about the world we live in. Participants will develop an appreciation for themselves and their environment.

We offer leadership and wilderness education programs of one-half day to two days in length. These programs may include but are not limited to leadership development, team development, personal skills development, environmental and wilderness education, and civic opportunities.
All programs will include technical and facilitated support.
Technical support includes:
-
Logistics planning – We will take into account the length of time of an activity, geographic location, equipment needed, setup (i.e. setting up equipment, supplies, developing the learning objective for the day), identify current weather patterns, and determine special needs.
-
Risk management – Managing risk is essential to adventures. Tammy Eggert and Kings River Conservancy will develop a risk management plan for each activity to minimize risk and carry Commercial Liability Insurance, if any injury occurs.
Facilitated support is defined as:
-
Guiding participants through an adventure and utilizing hands-on techniques to enhance the quality of the learning experience.
-
Transformation is a key element in facilitation. It represents the integration of learning from the leadership or wilderness program into the participant’s real life.
-
Transformation will be reinforced through reflection, solos and journaling.
-
Program Delivery:
-
In Class Presentations – Students are treated to a fun and informative in-class experience. Programs for upper-elementary to high school can include natural resources and leadership challenges that may include low rope elements. Subjects that may be covered include but are not limited to: Biodiversity, Pollinators, Raptors, personal development, environmental education and civic responsibility.
-
Outdoor 1 Day Adventure - Students get out of the classroom and into the subject matter. Tammy Eggert acts as a consultant and even guide to help students gain a passion for natural spaces such as the Lower Kings River and even an appreciation for their own backyard.
-
Multi-Day Program - This program can prepare your classroom for a unique youth leadership opportunity. Civic responsibility is weaved throughout all Outdoor Quests programs, but can be focused on through a four day in-class lesson plan that is followed up by an outdoor field trip where students help to coordinate, and develop a hands-on adventure dealing with environmental stewardship.
